Offline Work From Home Jobs

Offline Work From Home Jobs

My secrets to success when I don't want to leave the house.

Everyone needs a little extra income, and the internet can be a great source for that income, but it can also be a supreme hassle and ginormous waste of money and time.

I've compromised a list of ways you can make a substantial extra income, without having to leave home, or go online. These aren't get rich quick schemes, or anything to quit your day job for, but they are proven extra income sources that currently work great for me.

1.) Grow Organic Produce!

Even if you don't have room for a garden you likely still have room for some planter beds or large pots, I once harvested over 50 pounds of produce from a 6x4 apartment deck, so no space is too tiny.
Don't feel like growing veggies? Grow flowers, save the bees=save the earth, and they always sell great. I love setting up a little flower stand outside the house towards the end of summer.
Growing organic is much cheaper than you think, the picture above is my own garden, I put less than $300 into seeds, soil, fencing, and materials for it, but will get an average of $2,000-$5,000 worth of organic produce out of it. Simply apply to become a vendor at your local famers market and only work one day a week, or stay home full time and pay someone hourly to go for you.
and you don't need a huge variety, stick with what's easy. For example just this planter bed of squash should net at least $300 once harvested and taken to the market.

2.) Craft your heart out!
I made all of these for less than $5 in less than an hour.
I used dollar store products, scrap wood, and dead tree branches.
Crafting is simple and fun, and you don't need to do hard projects to make a profit off of them, that's a common misconception. You also don't need any special talent. I've sold crafts to people that their toddlers could have easily made them.
My number one tip if you choose to go this route is
STAY THE HELL OUT OF MICHEALS,
or jo anns or any other store that could be considered the Costco of crafting. You're doing this to make a profit, if you go into one of those stores, then we both know, that's not gonna happen.
The platforms to sell your crafty creations is also endless, Etsy is of course the crafters equivalent to Jesus, but its not always easy to turn much of a profit, and sales are generally slow. My favorite places to sell are farmers markets, flea markets, and special events that call for vendors, like car shows. There is usually a small fee (around $10-$30) to set up a booth, but after that the profits start rolling in. I've learned that people are much more willing to buy in these situations and my profits soar, all for simply sitting under a shade tent for a few hours while people throw money at me. I highly recommend trying it at least once.

3.) Propagate Succulents
Succulents will always be great sellers, no matter where you sell them. Propagating them is as easy as watering them and walking away. Its virtually free money.
Ask around for clippings of other peoples succulents, or buy a few large succulents you can cut clippings from, lay them in about an inch of well drained soil and keep damp and out of direct sunlight, soon, the clipping will be a whole new plant you can sell. We have been doing this for years now with great success.
Sell them at farmers markets, online if you want, craft sales, flea markets, no matter where you sell they will be bought.
Crafting with those propagated succulents is a double income booster. Plus succulent crafts are grrrrreat sellers.

4.) Raise Chickens!

Raising Chickens is extremely easy. Just make sure they have a secure coop, a safe area to roam, and plenty of food and water. Chicken food is also ridiculously cheap, and you can give them table scraps as well.
You can sell the eggs to neighbors, or at a local market, or even online, or if you're in an area where you are able to keep a rooster, hatch and raise chicks too, both are very profitable. 6 chickens usually lay 6 eggs a day, that's a dozen every 2 days, if you sold them for $5 a dozen, which is the going rate currently, you would rake in around $80 dollars a month. I will not discuss raising them for food, for one, its not very profitable, and two, I don't eat chickens, and feel that it is wrong to do so.

5.) Watch pets in your home

People are constantly looking for trusted individuals who can watch their furry friend in their own home. Its a win-win-win, you get to stay home, get a fuzzy friend to chill with, and you get paid.
If you're worried your home is not set up for it, its well worth the effort to make a small area that is pet safe, like an outdoor easy up kennel or room with few furnishings and no hazards. Check local facebook pages and craigslist for people looking as well as the sites specially made for pet sitting. And post flyers and locals parks and pet stores.

DIY GYPSY WAGON GLAMPER

DIY

GYPSY WAGON

GLAMPER

About halfway through our last tiny home build we started to get extremely bored with it. There is only so much you can do with a traditional tiny home design, and our creative juices were beginning to run dry. At first we thought of doing a sort of tear drop deign, but that held several creative restrictions as well.

It was finally decided that we would build a Gypsy Wagon. But after copious amounts of research, we realized that a traditional Gypsy Wagon or Vardo didn't quite match what we were imagining for our next build.

And thus,

The Gypsy Wagon Glamper was born.

We are currently working on the finishing touches and editing a video blog of the build and finished result, as well as an instructional tutorial, but I just couldn't wait to share the progress pictures of this build now. Make sure you follow to see the completed project and instructional tutorial.

This entire build was done for under $2000.
Proving it doesn't always cost a fortune to go tiny.

We started with a $200 5x8 dump trailer
(Craigslist score!)

Then, we ripped the old floor off and made the base, and stylish bracing.

Framing

Plywood and Papering

Framing for curved roof
(This was the tricky part)

Windows and Doorway Cut

Windows Installed
(We did this a little prematurely, mainly because we weren't confident in not accidently breaking them if we stored them any longer.)

Celling, Roof insulation, and aluminum roofing installed.
(& yep, I wore a sundress through all of it)

Bed, Counters, Shelves, Electrical and Flooring installed.

Custom sink and plumbing installed.

Trim being added.

I will update with the last of the photos soon, we would love to hear your opinions of this build in the comments!
